Academy Membership & Policies
All Academy Membership Categories
By enrolling in any STAGEDOOR SCHOOL OF ARTS academy, students, parents/carers, and partner institutions commit to attending all scheduled sessions to the best of their ability for the designated term. Absences are non-refundable and may negatively affect a student’s eligibility for casting opportunities, leadership roles, or additional responsibilities within their enrolled programme if attendance is deemed unsatisfactory.
Behaviour & Conduct
All members are expected to treat fellow students, staff, parents, and guardians with respect at all times.
STAGEDOOR SCHOOL OF ARTS operates a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind. Any incidents will be taken extremely seriously. We enforce a three-strike policy, and repeated breaches of conduct will result in removal from the academy without the option to return.
Under no circumstances should academy property, equipment, or props be removed from the premises without prior permission from a member of staff.
Academy Principles
At STAGEDOOR SCHOOL OF ARTS, we are proud to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for students, staff, and parents/guardians.
Our core academy principles are:
RESPECTFUL – SAFE – READY – GRATEFUL
These principles apply across all academy programmes, including clubs and schools-based provision.
We are committed to creating an environment where students can express themselves freely and creatively while remaining respectful of others. As part of creative and personal development work, sensitive topics may occasionally arise that could be emotionally challenging.
Our staff are trained to act as positive role models, maintaining professionalism, clear boundaries, and compassionate listening. Any information shared that raises safeguarding concerns will be handled appropriately in line with our safeguarding policies.
Students have a right to confidentiality; however, where we believe it is in the student’s best interest, parents or guardians will be informed in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
Uniform
Uniform is not compulsory; however, students are expected to wear appropriate clothing suitable for movement and dance.
Shorts should be no more than two inches above the knee
Hot pants are not permitted
Crop tops are not permitted
Footwear and attire should support safe participation in practical sessions.
Fees & Invoices
All fees and invoices are payable upon issue, in line with the selected payment schedule.
Failure to settle fees on time may result in recovery action being taken and/or suspension of participation until payment is received.
Cancellation Policy
Academy Programmes
We kindly request that students commit to a minimum of one full term following enrolment. This is essential to ensure continuity for casting, projects, and group development.
If a student wishes to withdraw mid-term, a four-week paid notice period is required. This allows subject leaders and fellow students to adapt and ensures programme continuity.
Refunds
We do not offer refunds for sessions missed.
In unfortunate circumstances if a half termly or termly membership requires severance mid-term a refund appeal can be submitted and considered factoring in our four week notice period.
Refunds will not be considered after four weeks of none-attendance and no effort to communicate has been made.
GDPR and data handling
Here at The Phoenix Academy we follow strict government guidance when it comes to our data handling and processing. This is why your information is stored safely, securely and won't be shared with third parties.
